The market in Xochimilco is one of the oldest in the city. In it you will find everything from fruit and vegetables to utensils. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this market is the sale of live animals. Here they sell everything from chickens to sheep, dogs, cats, fish, hens, turkeys, rodents, reptiles and goats. They also sell food, cages and other equipment if you do decide to pick up a pet!
